MIDWEST LONGHORN SALE
WINFIELD LIVESTOCK AUCTION – WINFIELD, KANSAS
APRIL 24th, 2010

1. Catalog and sales fee - $250.00 (includes picture & yardage) plus 7% commission and transfer for participating consignor or 15% for non-participating consignor. Due to the amount of cattle we’re going to have in the registered longhorn sale we are requiring $125.00 deposit per each nomination to the sale. This is a first come first serve option to longhorn breeders. The additional $125.00 per nomination accepted will be required at time of acceptance or March 10th, 2010. No animal will be sold without full consignment fees paid in advance.
2. The sale will be handled with the “Pass Out” option of any animal that doesn’t sell for at least $1,000.00 it will be an automatic “Pass Out” and animal will go directly back to consignor forfeiting their $250.00 catalog fee with no additional “Pass Out” fees. At that time the consignor elects to they can go to the office and consign that animal to the non-registered sale.
3. “Pass Out” fee for any animal that has a bid of OVER $1,000.00 and the Consignor elects to “Pass Out” the animal their will be no additional fee other than their original consignment fee.
4. Definition “PARTICIPATING CONSIGNOR” is a consignor that purchases a minimum of one animal other than their own in the Catalog sale during the bidding process. This process worked very well last year and we’re interested in participating consignors for this longhorn event.
5. Definition “NON PARTICIPATING CONSIGNOR” is a consignor that does not purchase at least one animal other than their own in the Catalogue sale during the bidding process.
   
6. There will be no split pairs, bulls or 2 for one lot in the 2009 Midwest Longhorn Sale.
7. Photograph – A photo is required on all animals and is included in the consignment fee. This should be a good photo that will represent your animal well. A poor photo will be a disadvantage. Animals should be photographed with the head up and in a good position. NO POLAROIDS. Please submit photos as soon as possible. (ALL COLOR CATALOG)
8. We will be selling ads again this year in the catalogue to consignors only or non-competitive businesses. This is a great way to showcase your program and your consignments. Full-page ads are $400.00 and half page ads are $250.00, Front inside cover and back inside cover have already been sold. The amount of pictures per ad are (Full Page 6 pictures Maximum) Half Page Ad 3 pictures Maximum.
   
   

1. All consignors must furnish a SEPARATE health certificate for each lot consigned. The health certificates are valid for 30 days from date of issue. Each health certificate should have the animal clearly identified by private herd number and name. Please do not identify the animals by the long number on the metal ear clip if you are selling in the catalogue portion of the sale.
2. All female animals 18 months of age and over and bulls 12 months of age and over must be tested negative for brucellosis not more than 30 days prior to sale. Steers do not require a brucellosis test.
3. All female cattle between 4 and 12 months of age should be officially calfhood vaccinated.
4. All animals 12 months of age and over are required to have negative tuberculosis test not more than 30 days prior to sale.
5. The terms and conditions in the catalog state that all test eligible sold will have a 30-day negative Brucellosis and TB test. REMEMBER…WE ARE TESTING THESE ANIMALS NOT ONLY FOR ENTRY INTO KANSAS BUT ALSO TO BE SHIPPED OUT OF KANSAS TO AS MANY AS 35 DIFFERENT STATES.
   
   

We will send you a sample format to be used for your health certificates. The health certificates should be brought to the sale when you check in your cattle on Friday before the sale.
