MIDWEST LONGHORN SALE
Debbie and I would like to invite you to be a part of the Midwest Longhorn Sale this year on April 26th, 2008 at Winfield Livestock Auction in historic Winfield, Kansas. We have made a few changes and we hope this will be to everyone’s advantage of having a great longhorn event! The sale will also be on the Internet (cattleusa.com) live again this year and approved buyers will be able to buy online. Winfield Livestock Auction has remodeled their facility and now has central air and theater seats for seating. We will be having a Select Heifer Section of the sale this year and will select 20 selected heifers to be sold at the first part of the regular longhorn saleThe consignment fee will be $250.00 plus 7% commission per animal or cow/nursing calf pair. There is a provision for pairs being split in the ring as well as two animals in one lot and this is explained on the enclosed information sheet. A picture and yardage are included in this consignment fee. We are requiring a color picture on each lot, as the complete catalog will be in color this year. In order to maintain a strong heifer market, the select heifer sale will be limited to (20) select heifers. Please nominate your heifer for selection to the sale by submitting pedigree and picture of your prospective consignment to myself at earliest date possible. You will be notified no later than March 5th of acceptance or exclusionFollowing the catalogued sale, we will be offering a non-catalogued sale of cattle that will sell without registration papers. Combined with this will be a roping stock sale. We would appreciate if you would advise us in advance how many animals you will be bringing so we can adequately pen these animals. The charges for this sale will be a straight 7% commission plus yardage. These animals cannot be catalogued or sold with registration papers. All ropers must be fresh ropers…no used roping cattle.By combining these three sales, we will be giving you an opportunity to sort your animals prior to consigning thus giving you the greatest return possible.
The sale will be handled with the pass out option that we have used in the previous sales. The consignment fee is not refundable after the animal has been consigned. The pass out fee in the catalogued sale will be your consignment fee plus $200. If you decide to PO your animal in the non-catalogued and steer sale, there will be a charge of $25.00 per animal that will need to be paid prior to the release of your animals. Winfield Livestock Auction will be paying all consigners sale day and everyone will need to bring payment to sale to pay for their purchases. Sincerely, Mike & Debbie Bowman
